A trunk show is a special event at which a wedding gown designer (or representative from his or her company) visits a bridal boutique to showcase his or her entire line of gowns. Typically fresh off the runway, trunk shows offer a sneak peek at what stores will stock in the coming months. Since proper samples haven't arrived in shops countrywide, visiting a shop that is having a trunk show is your best bet to check out the latest in wedding gown fashions. Plus, it is a great time to purchased your gown - generally the bridal boutique offers a discount to purchase and the designer will either split or comp (depending on changes) the cost of rushes, split sizes, extra length, etc.

When you learn that a bridal boutique is having a trunk show, it's best to go to that designer's website to determine if his or her style is what you are looking for.
